I wanted a degree that gave me the freedom to explore more than one area of interest. I’ve always been drawn to both business and communication, and BSIS let me combine those passions in a way that really made sense for my goals. I liked that it was flexible, and it allowed me to shape my education around what I enjoy most and what I knew would be valuable in any career path.

Haley is currently the Program Coordinator for the Cooperative Education Program with the Mississippi State University Career Center.

My BSIS degree has helped me become more adaptable. Having a background that blends different disciplines means I’ve learned to look at situations from multiple angles. Whether it’s problem-solving, planning, or working with people, I can pull from different skill sets to find creative solutions. It’s definitely made me more well-rounded and comfortable stepping into new or unexpected challenges.

Having emphasis areas in business and communication has given me such a good balance. I can think strategically while also focusing on how to connect and support people. That combination has been so helpful in my role as a Program Coordinator.
