Student Profile: Avery Ferguson

Avery Ferguson is senior English major with a French minor from Mandaville, Louisianna. Avery said she that she chose to go to MSU because, “Both my dad and my brother attended school here, so I grew up coming to campus and going to football games. I always loved the people I met when I was here and could tell it was a special place.”  During her time at MSU she has served as a College of Arts & Sciences Ambassador, Vice President of TEDxMSState, a Study Abroad Ambassador, a LINC International Student mentor, and an editorial reader for the Jabberwock Review. She is also a part of Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Avery said that she has been most influenced by the English Department and Dr. Marsh. Avery described MSU as “rare” and, her advice to incoming or prospective students is to choose MSU because at MSU, “You never feel as if you don't have the resources you need to achieve your goals or improve yourself.”
