Bio:

Emily S.H. Stafford graduated from Auburn University in 2014 with a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and an M.Ed. in Community Agency Counseling in 2009. She earned her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2001. Dr. Stafford proudly serves as the Director of the Psychology Clinic within the Department of Psychology at Mississippi State University. The Psychology Clinic serves as a training and research facility for the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program, accredited by the American Psychological Association. The Clinic provides direct care services, such as assessment and therapy services to Mississippians. In addition to direct client care, the Clinic participates in a number of community outreach activities. These range from on-campus mental health screenings to collaboration with faculty members of service grant activities. For example, the Clinic collaborated with Dr. Michael Nadorff and MSU television studios to produce a documentary series about mental health and adolescents. The resulting films won two Southeast Emmy Awards!

In addition to her work in the Clinic, Dr. Stafford teaches the Scientist Practitioner I – IV course sequence. This sequence focuses on foundational clinical skills of junior students and supervision skills of advanced clinical students. In 2022, this course sequence won a national clinic training innovations award from the Association of Psychology Training Clinics.
