Constitution Day Observance
Mississippi State University will mark Constitution Day with a Sept. 17 presentation examining how Americans’ pursuit of political purity and authenticity can deepen partisan divisions and harm society. Brian Shoup, professor and head of MSU’s Department of Political Science and Public Administration, will present “The Purity Problem: Partisan Sorting and the Dangerous Quest for Political Authenticity” at 2 p.m. in McComas Hall theater. The event is free and open to the public.
