Wolf joins MSU from the City University of New York, where he held dual appointments as a professor of mathematics at the City College of New York (CCNY) and at the CUNY Graduate Center. Most recently, he led CUNY’s doctoral program in mathematics as executive officer, overseeing more than 100 faculty members and approximately 80 Ph.D. students. He previously chaired CCNY’s Department of Mathematics for five years and served as graduate advisor for three years.

For Lourdes Cardozo Gaibisso, “home” is more than just a place—it’s something people create. “I believe el lugar lo hace uno: ‘the place is made by the person,’” she said. “My mom taught me this when I was a child, and I carry that lesson with me. I try to foster a sense of belonging for students who are far from home by creating a welcoming environment where they feel valued and respected.”

Two Mississippi State undergraduates will study foreign languages abroad and virtually this summer thanks to the U.S. Department of State’s Critical Language Scholarship Program.
