A new study shows Mississippi State continues to generate a high return on investment for stakeholders with an estimated $3.9 billion annual economic impact.

After Mississippi State University’s two-year term leading the Southeast Journalism Conference (SEJC), it officially passed the torch of leadership to Georgia Highlands College on March 24. The college will host SEJC in 2026.

Mississippi State faculty member Joseph Thompson continues to earn widespread recognition for his groundbreaking work on the intersection of music and military history, earning an international award for his acclaimed book “Cold War Country: How Nashville’s Music Row and the Pentagon Created the Sound of American Patriotism.”
