An albatross is a bird known for flying in wind currents and other weather conditions for thousands of miles without having to flap its wings. Could that same method of flight also be used to reduce the energy needed for planes?

Kenneth Swan, a senior year Geosciences major student at Mississippi State University and Shackouls Honors College has earned co-author credit in a newly published journal article. The study is titled "Quantifying Tornado Outbreak Intensity and Frequency Relationships with Interannual and Monthly Variability."
