Student Profile: Katelyn Jackson

Katelyn Jackson is a senior biological sciences major who is currently declared pre-med from Starkville, Mississippi. She chose MSU because during her senior year at Mississippi School for Mathematics she was able to visit campus twice a week to do research. She said, “The positive experience of doing research at one of the nation's top 100 research universities as a high school student led me to choose MSU.”  During her time at MSU she has served as vice-president of Biological Sciences Ambassadors, a College of Arts and Sciences Ambassador, and as a Student Association Cabinet Member. She has also been involved in MSU-Starkville Symphony Orchestra, American Medical Student Association, Lambda Sigma Honor Society, and The Montgomery Leadership Program. Jackson said that her favorite experience in college was when she went on the Caribbean Biology Study Abroad Cruise, where she got to learn about biological features while “diving with sea turtles in Mexico” and “exploring the ecological features of the forests in the Bahamas.”
