The Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies is a university-wide degree coordinated through the College of Arts & Sciences by the Interdisciplinary Studies Committee.
This multidisciplinary academic program is appropriate for students motivated by specific interests not recognized in traditional majors and is not intended to compete with existing programs. The program is intended to allow students maximum flexibility to custom-design a curriculum to their personal and career goals.
In order to meet both student needs and university requirements, the BSIS program must have depth of study as well as breadth. Therefore, students have two options:
1. Select two emphasis areas consisting of 18 hours.
2. Select three emphasis areas of 12 hours each.
*All courses in your emphasis area must be taken at the upper division level: 3000-4000 level courses.
* Students must choose emphasis areas from at least two academic colleges in both options above.
