Gender Studies: Two night event celebrating the 19th Amendment

 

Gender Studies is planning a two night event focused upon the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, a speaker followed by a film screening. Both will be Webex events. Registration information is included on the attached flyer.

 

On September 23 at 6 pm, Jennifer Riley Collins, former candidate for Mississippi Attorney General, will give a talk titled “Politics is not Pretty, So Why Must She Be?"

 

Then on September 24 at 6 pm, we will show  And She Could Be Next, chronicling  the movement led by women of color as they fight for an actually representative democracy, from the grassroots up. The trailer is here, and more information is available here.
