Graduate Studies

Graduate Students are an integral part of the academic and research missions of Mississippi State University and the College of Arts & Sciences. The College of Arts & Sciences offers the Master of Arts (M.A.), Master of Science (M.S.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in many areas of the humanities, social and behavioral sciences, and physical and natural sciences. On-line Master degrees are available in General Biology, Interdisciplinary Sciences, Public Policy Administration, and Geosciences. Academic Certificates are also available to graduate students in a variety of programs, including but not limited to Broadcast Meteorology, Computational Biology, Criminal Justice and Corrections, Environmental Sciences, Gender Studies, and Geospatial and Remote Sensing Technologies. Most graduate students in the College of Arts & Sciences are supported by Teaching or Research Assistantships available through the home department or major professor. Our graduates have gone on to prestigious careers in virtually every field of endeavor.
